ANIMAL RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES
With extensive forest coverage and large number of ST population already engaged in different types of animal Husbandry, the district of Jalpaiguri has tremendous potential for ARD for boosting the rural economy. RSVY is no doubt destined to play the key role. The total sanction in the ARD sector is Rs. 1,87,41,340/-. In this sector the emphasis has been I) To equip our farmers with necessary skill, knowledge and techniques in modern methods of animal husbandry through a series of HRD trainings.II) To provide the much needed infrastructure for meeting the medicinal support for improving animal health and nutrition which can reduce animal mortality rate drastically.(III) To provide medicinal and other technological support to the Pranibandhus and to ensure their easy accessibility to the farmers.(iv) To assist poor farmers with viable animal husbandry units for employment generation and income supplement.
