MICRO-ENTERPRISES SCHEMES
This sector involves beneficiary oriented schemes aimed at convergence of different activities mainly related to cottage and small-scale industries. It targets at poverty alleviation, especially in forest villages, and areas around tea gardens where livelihood is eked through negligible earnings from different sources. The sector also addresses the near-unemployed situation of the rural folk musical groups, village artisans, potters, clay model artistes and the tribal population. Keeping in mind the concept of convergence this sector has (a) the Divisional Forest Officer, Jalpaiguri Social Forestry Division,(b)the District Information & Cultural Officer, Jalpaiguri(c)the General Manager, District Industries Centre, Jalpaiguri(d)the Handloom Development Officer, Alipurduar Jalpaiguri and (d) the West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation, as the PIAs.
