HEALTH SCHEMES

Health has always been a priority sector for the State Govt. But not withstanding the enormous and consistent efforts vital gaps still exist in many areas of health care nutrition and sanitations provided by the Govt. The launching of the RSVY has provided the necessary additionality to fill up the critical gaps to reach declared goal of “health for all”. The RSVY Plan document for Jalpaiguri therefore provides for substantial allocations for the health sector. A sum of Rs 2.27 crores remain earmarked for this sector . The basic aim has been to bridge the basic gaps in health sector and to address the day to day needs of the poor persons who have little access to the Primary Health Centers and to established medical units. The important schemes are (i) providing medical vans and ambulance in remote and inaccessible areas of the district , (ii) to provide big ambulance vehicles.

19 ambulances have been purchased and handed over to the District Health and Family Welfare Society. 2 Mobile clinics will be purchased. 208 disabled persons have been trained under Mission Nava Jeevan.
